Tanzan and Ekido were once travelling together down a muddy road. 

A heavy rain was still falling.

Coming around a bend, they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash, unable to cross the intersection. 

"Come on, girl," said Tanzan at once.

Lifting her in his arms, he carried her over the mud.

Ekido did not speak again until that night when they reached a lodging temple.Then he no longer could restrain himself. "We monks don't do near females," he told Tanzan, "especially not young and lovely ones. It is dangerous. Why did you do that?" 

"I left the girl there," said Tanzan. "Are you still carrying her?"

About Three Person 

There are three types of people in the world.

What three?

1. One who is like carving on a rock,
2. one who is like scratching on the ground, 
3. one who is like writing on the water.

What sort of person is like carving on a rock?

Imagine a certain person who is always getting angry and his anger lasts long, just as carving on a rock is not soon worn off by wind, water or lapse of time.

What sort of person is like scratching on the ground?

Imagine a certain person who is always getting angry but his anger does not last long, just as scratching on the ground is soon worn off by the wind, water and lapse of time. 

And what sort of person is like writing on the water? Imagine a certain person who, even though spoken to harshly, sharply, roughly, is easily reconciled and becomes agreeable and friendly, just as writing on the water soon disappears.

බක් පුර පසලොස්වක පොහොය දිනයේ ඇති විශේෂත්වය.

The Bak full moon Poyaday falls today [6th April 2012]. The Poyaday commemorates the second visit of the Buddha to Sri Lanka.

The Lord Buddha visited Sri Lanka in order to end the conflict between two Naga Kings Culodara and Mahodara, over a jewel-studded throne.

Actually, Buddhism is the first missionary religion in the history of humanity, with a universal message of Peace for all mankind. It was on Bak Full Moon Poya Day, the Buddha, visited Sri Lanka, preached his doctrine to Chulodara and Mahodara at Nagadeepa.

There is a relevant verse from the Dhammapada (verse No. 201) which comes to mind on this serene Bak Full Moon PoyaDay.

[Victory breeds hatred, for the conquered is unhappy. He who has given up both victory and defeat, he, the contented, is happy.]

The message we must acquire on this Bak Full Moon Poya Day is that victory brings Hatred and the vanquished lives in Misery. One whose mind is calm, quiet and undisturbed lives happily.

පොහොසත් වීමට ආර්ය මාර්ගයක් (ඉණ සූත්‍රය) ඇසුරින්.

 පොහොසත් වීමට ආර්ය මාර්ගයක්  (ඉණ සූත්‍රය) ඇසුරින්.

1	ගිහි ජීවිතයේ කෙනෙකු දිළින්දකු වශයෙන් ඉපදීම දුකක්ද?	ඔව්, එය දුකක්.
2	ඔහුට ජීවත් වීම පිණිස ණයක් ගැනීමට සිදු වුවහොත් එය දුකක් ද?	ඔව්, එය දුකක්.
3	ණය ගත්ත කෙනාට පොළිය එකතු වීම ගැන මතක් වන විට ඇතිවන් දුකක් නොවේද?	ඔව්, එය දුකක්.
4	ණය දීපු අය නිතර නිතර මතක් කරණවා ණය ගෙවන්න කියල එම සිහිපත් කිරීමි දුකක් නොවේද?	ඔව්, එය දුකක්.
5	ණය ගෙවන්න කල් යන විට නය දීපු අය ‍මේ පුද්ගලය හොයාගෙන එනව, එවිට මේ පුද්ගලයට හැංගෙන්න වෙනවා එය දුකක් කරදරයක් නොවේද?	ඔව්, එය දුකක්.
6	අවසානයේ මේ පුද්ගලයා ණය ගෙවා ගන්න බැරිවීම නිසා ණය දුන් අය විසින් අල්ලා නීති මගින් කටයුතුකර හිරේ දානව. එය මේ පුද්ලගලය‍ට දුකක් නොවේ ද ?	ඔව්, එය දුකක්.

 ශාසනික දුප්පතෙක්

 

නමුත් කෙනෙකු තුල ශද්ධාව නොමැති නම්, කුසල් දහමි වැඩීමට විශ්වාසයක් හෝ උනන්දුවක් නොමැතිනම්, පවි කිරීමට ලැජ්ජාවක් හෝ භයක් නොමැති නමි, කෙලෙස් යටපත් කිරීමට වීර්ය වන්ත නොවේ නමි, ප්‍රඥාව දියුනු කර ගැනීමේ අදහසක් නොමැති නමි ඔහු ශාසනික වශයෙන් දුප්පත් කෙනෙකි. නොඑසේනම්, ශද්ධා, හිරි, ඔත්තප්ප, වීර්යය, ප්‍රඥා වෙන් තොර පුද්ගලයා ශාසනික දුප්පතකු වශයෙන් බුදුරජාන්න වහන්සේ දේශණා කර තිබෙනවා.

මේ ශාසනික වශයෙන් දුප්පත් පුද්ගලයා කයින්, වචනයෙන, මනසින් වැරදි කිරීම ණයට ගැනීමක් ලෙස වැනිය. මේ නිසා පුද්ගලයි ණය කාරයකු බවට පත්වේ.

මොහු රහසින් පස් පවට යොමු වෙනවා, එය පොළිය වැඩීමක් වැනිය.

සිලිවත් ගුණවත් අය ඉදිරියේ ඔවුන් කියන දේ අසා මොහු දුක් වෙනවා රහසින් පස් පව් කිරීම ගැන. එය ණය දුන්න ‍කෙනා පොළිය මතක් කරමින් චෝදනා කරණවා වැනිය.

දැන් මේ පුද්ගලයා‍ හුදකළා වූ විට තනි වූ විට මොහු කර ගත් පවි මොහුට මතක් වෙනවා, හරියට ණය දුන් අය ණය ඉල්ලා මේ පුද්ගලයව හොයාගෙන එනවා වගේ....

අවසානයේ මොහු අර ණය දුන් අය අතටම අල්ලා ගන්නව අල්ලගෙන නීති මගින් කටයුතු කර හිරේ දැමිම හරියට මරණයෙන් පසු දුගති ගාමී වුනා වගෙයි ආයෙ කාගෙවත් පිළිසරණක් නැතුව යනවා.

එම නිසා වහ වහා ශද්ධා, හිරි, ඔත්තප්ප, වීර්යය, ප්‍රඥා ඇති ශාසනික වශයෙන් පොහොසත් කෙනෙකු වන්න.... 

පූජ්‍ය කිරිබත්ගොඩ ඥාණානන්ද හිමියන්ගේ දේශණයක් ඇසුරිනි. තෙරැවන් සරණයි...!!!
